Spotlight: What are IFAKs?
IFAK stands for Individual First Aid Kit. It is a compact medical kit designed to give trained professionals immediate access to essential equipment when treating serious injuries.
The IFAKs assembled during ZhdU teambuildings are destined for firefighters, ambulance crews, first responders and other civilian emergency and medical professionals in Ukraine.
What’s inside?
Each IFAK contains specialised medical supplies covering five main areas:

🩸 Bleeding control — tourniquet, pressure bandages, hemostatic dressing and gauze

💨 Airway & breathing — chest seal, airway cannulas and decompression needle

🔥 Burns & wounds — burn dressing, sterile compresses and antiseptic swabs

🏕 Survival — emergency blanket

🧤 Protection & tools — gloves, trauma scissors, tape and marker
Some components require specific medical training and are intended for use by trained professionals.
More than just assembling kits
The teambuilding is deliberately designed as an engaging, hands-on team challenge.
Participants need to share information, solve practical problems and work out how to organise themselves effectively. The format creates a playful, hands-on challenge where communication, problem-solving, leadership and collaboration emerge naturally.
The level of complexity is adapted to each teambuilding — depending on the group size, available time and number of IFAKs being assembled — so that the challenge remains engaging and achievable.
At the end, the challenge also has a tangible outcome: complete IFAKs, prepared by ZhdU for delivery to civilian emergency and medical professionals in Ukraine.
